Sisterhood Closing Luncheon
Sunday, May 6, 2012
11:30 a.m.
NHS Sisterhood concluded the 2011-2012 season with a festive luncheon for its members and guests. Sisterhood President Roz Shapiro welcomed incoming president Bobbie Winkler, and Programming Chairs Bobbi Handwerger and Sandy Spitz thanked everyone who contributed to the lunch a long-stemmed rose.
Entertainment was provided by the folk/pop group Wild Carrot, consisting of husband and wife Spencer Funk and Pamela Temple. This Cincinnati-based group performs award-winning original songs to swing, traditional and not-so-traditional folk songs to show tunes and blues. Each song was introduced by the singers with enjoyable banter and back-story, and they accompanied themselves on guitar and some more exotic instruments.
After the performance, Spencer assisted by picking the winning raffle tickets for the items on display. Wild Carrot CDs were available for purchase on another table.
