3-5 pm at Northern Hills Synagogue
On Sunday, September 20th, 530 people got a super sweet start to the Jewish New Year when Shalom Family presented the "Apples and Honey High Holiday Family Farm Fest" at Northern Hills Synagogue. The amazing weather provided the perfect backdrop for this farm fresh event which featured tons of hands on activities, games, prizes and more, including:
*Pony Rides *Petting Zoo *Make your own Farm Stand *Country Fair games *Apples & Honey Candy Buffet *Rosh Hashanah craft activities *Honey Bee Inflatable *Live music from the Juggernaut Jug Band *Balloon Sculptures and Face Painting *Rosh Hashanah Honey Cake Walk *Honey Stand with Beekeeper and info *Free mini challahs *Free apples and reusable bags courtesy of Whole Foods
This event marks the first time in its 12 year history that Shalom Family has put on an event at a synagogue… and the results yielded very positive things for NHS. Not only did our Spark School receive a number of inquiries, more than 70 people signed up to receive information about our family programs, and dozens of families were seen taking information about the synagogue and/or asking questions of our members and checking out our beautiful sanctuary and other facilities. In addition, our gift shop picked up some additional business that day, and our newly branded Love and Knishes: Full Service Catering from the Kitchens of NHS was introduced to the public. This event offered NHS a great opportunity to see how our grounds and building can be used for large scale events.
