On Monday, September 14 at 4:00 PM, there will be a free online event screening a film about the SS Quanza, a ship carrying Jewish refugees from Europe that became stranded off the coast of Virginia in 1940. The film was made by a cousin of our member Don Hordes, and Don's great-uncle also features prominently in the film's story.
This event is being facilitated by the American Jewish Archives and the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center and includes both a screening and a discussion. There is no charge to attend, but participants need to register in advance.
Come and learn about this fascinating and heroic story!
