The Hebrew word "Mitzvah" means "commandment" or a moral deed performed as a religious duty. As such, it has come to mean an act of human kindness or tikun olam, repairing the world. In that spirit, Northern Hills Synagogue members and their families volunteered at Cedar Village on December 25th so that the staff could celebrate Christmas with their families.
NHS kids served pancakes to elderly residents at Cedar Village.
They also played Bingo with the residents.
Adult NHS members helped the residents play Bingo.
