"What is Happening to the Museum Center?"
Elizabeth Pierce, Guest Speaker
NHS Hazak is for everyone 50+ years young! It includes a free lunch and enjoyable program, usually with a guest speaker. Donations are always welcome.
Today's guest speaker was Elizabeth Pierce, talking about the Cincinnati Museum Center and the renovations that will go on for the next two years.
Elizabeth Pierce is a passionate advocate for early childhood education and lifelong learning with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Miami University and a Masters of Museum Studies and Administration and American Studies from George Washington University. She has over 20 years of museum experience in a variety of positions including time in the photo archives department of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, public program development at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, special events and fundraising at the National Endowment for the Arts and time with the Chicago Children’s Museum at Navy Pier.
Elizabeth brought her considerable repertoire of talent to Cincinnati Museum Center, first in 2001 as a communications consultant and as a member of the Duke Energy Children’s Museum Advisory Board in 2004. She joined the senior leadership team as the vice president of marketing and communications in 2007. In 7 years in that role, Elizabeth drove financial success with robust museum admissions revenue, OMNIMAX® films and blockbuster special exhibits including "BODIES: The Exhibition", "Cleopatra", "The Dead Sea Scrolls" and "Diana, A Celebration". In December 2014 she was named interim CEO before being officially named president and CEO in April 2015.
