Comedy Night Fundraiser

Northern Hills Synagogue and Congregation Ohav Shalom presented a Comedy Night fundraiser on Sunday, April 10th, at the Mayerson JCC that featured local comedian John Bunyan and internationally renown writer and comic Joel Chasnoff.
Joel Chasnoff is a stand-up comedian and author of the comic memoir "The 188th Crybaby Brigade: A Skinny Jewish Kid from Chicago Fights Hezbollah," about his year as a combat soldier in the Israeli army. He has performed around the globe and has opened for top acts, including Jon Stewart and Lewis Black (The Daily Show). John Bunyan, the warm up act, is the 2010 winner of the "Funniest Person in Cincinnati" contest.
The evening began with a festive reception for the Donors that included wine, beer and soft drinks and assorted finger food. The performers had a snack and mingled with the crowd before everyone moved to the auditorium.
John Bunyan performed first for about 20 minutes, followed by Joel Chasnoff, who joked with the crowd and read an excerpt from his book, The 188th Crybaby Brigade. Afterward, there were dessert refreshments and a variety of raffle prizes were awarded.
